The recent event, “Empowering Minds: A Round Table on Generative AI and Education in Asia-Pacific,” organized by UNESCO Bangkok and SEAMEO, was a significant gathering held from November 7 to November 9, 2023, in Bangkok. This three-day event aimed to explore the opportunities and risks associated with the growing influence of generative AI in education across the Asia-Pacific region.

Building upon UNESCO’s pioneering efforts in shaping the discourse on the ethical use of AI in education and leveraging generative AI, the ‘Empowering Minds’ round table aimed to take these discussions to a regional level.
